D. Tarr, 75. WAIROA CLUB TOURNEY TITLE TO J. OEACE In the Wairoa Golf Club’s open tournament. the championship was won by J. Grace, Wellington, who beat S. J. Pnttisoii. Wairoa. in tho 'final yesterday. The tournament was well patronised, arul attracted three entries from, poverty liny, M. R. Maude. C. 11. Bull, and D. E. Cliri.-p. All three qualified for the open championship, but did not survive beyond the second round of match play. in the first round of match play, Clirisp was defeated by D. V. Thomas, Wairoa, 2 up, while. Bull went down to A. E. Smith. Wairoa, who registered a 6 and 5 victory. Maude defeated J. W. Benson in the first rouml, but was disposed of in tbe second by TMttison, who figured later in the final, .Maudegoing down to this player by a narrow margin. The best gross score in the qualifying round was returned by A. El. Murley, Hawke's Bay, who went round in 68. D. V. Thomas won the trophy for the host net score, his card reading 76—13—63-
