BONDS OF FRIENDSHIP
AUSTRALIA AND DOMINION COMMON OUTLOOK (Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, this day. New Zealand’s cordial relations with Australia formed the keynote at a civic reception tendered to Mr. B. S. B. Stevens, the New South Wales Premier, to-day. Others present were Sir Archdale Parkiiill, tho Australian Minister of Defence. -Mi. J. Shand, and Sir Richard Linton. The Mayor, Mr. E. Davis, said tho bonds of kinship, common purpose, mutual defence and reciprocal passenger and tourist traffic held tho Commonwealth and fhe Dominion closely together. Visits such ns that paid by Mr. Stevens would weld further links in the chain of friendship, said Mr. Davis. The Hon. D. G. Sullivan, representing (lie Government, joined in file welcome. “We greatly appreciate this act of kindness, which is in keeping with tho friendship and goodwill which exist between the two countries,”' said Mr. Stevens in reply. He had (ravelled through eight European countries, and his indelible impression was in relation to the very high esteem in which Britain was held. She was carrying a tremendous responsibility wifh magnificent strength.
