SYSTEM OF PAYMENT MILK FOR CHEESE-MAKING (Per Press Association.) NEW PLYMOUTH, last night The adoption of a system 01. payment for milk for cheese-making on its cheese-making capacity was recommended to the Taranaki dairy companies in Stratford to-day. The meeting was addressed by Dr. P. H. McDowell, of the Dairy Research institute, Palmerston North, who traced his investigations leading to the formation of a system lor use in cheese factories. The method was also commended by Mr. Patterson, secretary and manager of file Tamaki Dairy Company, Auckland, where tho method had been tried and found satisfactory. SYDNEY WOOL SALES STRONG COMPETITION SYDNEY, Sept. 28. At the wool sales, 12,192 bales were offered and 10,728 sold, also 1544 privately. There was strong competition from Yorkshire, also an improved Continental demand. Best description's were from par to f> per cent above last week. Greasy merino made to 20-UI.
