MAKARAKA NEWS
PARTY DANCE (Herald UorrßsyonUeut.) On Saturday night the MakarakaMatawhero Hall was the scene of a very successful dance organised by the Party Committee. The function, like its predecessors, proved popular, dancing enthusiasts being present from all parts. ooiouretl streamers and greenery gave the hall a festive air. The programme of modern and old time dances, including the Maxina and Jolly Miller, was capably supervised by Mr. S. Ledger, while the music was played by Mrs. Ledger's orchestra. A Monte Carlo waltz proved popular, the. winners being Mrs. File and Mr. Corrigau. An estimating competition, the prize being an iced cake, was won by Miss M, Fade. Much of the. success of the function was due to the work of the committee, Messrs. H. Beattie, A. Houghton, If,. Hunter and W. Marshall. A dainty supper was served by Misses Jackson (2), L. Houghton, W. Gibson and Z. Walker.

Atkins, black georgette; Mrs. Gibson, wine crepe de chine; Mrs. McNee, black georgette; Mrs. Smith, floral georgette; Mrs. Pamment, blue silk; Mrs. File, navy crepella; Mrs. Greaves, black georgette; Mrs. J. Race, cream silk; Mrs. Cameron, floral georgette; Mrs. Alderton, black satin; Mrs. C. Walsh, brown silk; Mrs. J. Walsh, green georgette; Mrs. Breeze, blue corded crepe; Mrs. Clayton, crushed rose crepe suede; Mrs. G. Beets, florid inarocain; Mrs. C. Andrews, green society crepe; Mrs. A. Tinsley, checked talfeta; Mrs. Ludbrook, pink velvet and silver lame; Mrs. D. Rogers, black taffeta.
Miss W. Gibson wore eau de nil crepe de chine; Miss L. Houghton, blue satin beaute and gold lace; .Miss i\l. Jackson, primrose crepe de chine; Miss E. Jackson, shell pink crepella; Miss Z. Walker, green crepe, with grey velvet coatee; Miss 15. Wilde, plaid crepe; Miss M. Hade, coral marocain; Miss J. Smith, check taffeta; Miss J. Goodall, marina blue crinkle crepe.
