BLOW IN THE FACE INCIDENT IN TRAIN FOOTBALLER PINED (Per Press Association.) HAWERA, this day. As a sequel to the assault on IT. G. The line included .CI I°> <>d compensation to Dickie for damage to his hat. Default was fixed at one month's imprisonment, and accused was allowed a month in which to pay the fine, The incident' occurred at the Aranioho railway station when a first-class carriage was invaded by members of the Wanganui Maori Rugby team, who were journeying to "Waitara to participate in the celebrations at the unveiling of the memorial to the late Sir .Maui Toman 1 . Down, who was a member of the team, struck the member for Pa tea a blow in the face, the victim explaining to the magistrate. that ho was unable to eat his meals in comfort for a week.
