NEW HOTEL AND SHOPS BOROUGH PROPERTY Within a. few days one of llawera's most valuable assets, the Commercial Hotel and. adjoining shops, on tiie corner of High street- and Princess street on a- borough block of land, in the business area., which has yielded consider able revenue in rents and rates over a long period of years, will he made available for tender and investment by: private enterprise for the erection of a modern, hotel and shops. The new block will replace the existing buildings.
It is the intention of lhe Hawera Borough, Council to set back one street frontage by 10ft.. so that the line of the new building-, will conform with the adjoining Government offices. The council was faced with an expenditure of £2so') on the renovation of lhe hotel Mode.
