WHARERATA NEWS

W.I. DANCE

(Herald Correspondent.)

On Wednesday evening a- jolly dance was held in the Wharcrata Hall, by the- Wharerata Women's Institute. There was a splendid attendance and during the evening those present danced to music supplied by Mr. A. Taipeha and an enjoyable extra was given by Mr. J. Austin.

The hall was tastefully decorated with spring flowers and an open* lire gave an air of cosiness, for the weather was anything hut pleasant. The hostesses were Mrs. A. N. West. Sirs. W. McGninness, and Mrs. (!. B. McAra, and the duties of M.C. were carried out by Mr. G. B. McAra.

An interval was made for supper and a, very delightful supper it was, served by the hostesses with the help of several gentlemen;. After a, very enjoyable evening the company joined 1 in singing "Auld Lange Syne''' and "God Save the King." Those present were Mr. and Mrs. A. 2*. West, Mr. and Airs. IT. B: McAra, Mr. and Mrs. C. B. McAra, Mr. and Mrs. 0. Torrie, Mr. and -Mrs. Gardner, Mr. and Mrs. Morrow, Mr. and Mrs. Attwood ; M'esdames B. Jones, W. MeGuinness, H. V. Buslmell, and .1. Black; Misses 'S. ami TX Richardson, J. and Ni. Austin', J. Bushnell an,]. E. Black: Messrs. B. and ffl. Richardson, J. and B. Austin., S. Lindley. R. Sadler, A. Taipeha, R. Nelson and Bland.
