Mr. Richard Henry Barber, who died recently in Te Horo, Foxton, in his seventy-second year, was born in Wellington in 1864." He was the eldest son of the late Mr. James Barber, one of Wellington's pioneer settlers and business men. The late Mr. Barber conducted an engineering business in Foxton. About 15 years ago he sold his business interests and acquired a farm property (portion of the Gear estate), at Te Horo, where he had since resided.
