36 MILES IN 30 MINUTES GREAT WESTERN SPECIAL (British Official Wireless.) Reed. 9.30 a.m. RUGBY, Sept. 24. A special train, ran from Reading to Paddington, the London terminus of the Great Western Railway, to enable artists to keep a broadcast engagement to-day, completed the journey of 36 miles in 30min. 30sec, which is nine and ahnlf minutes \em than the fastest scheduled run.

For 29 miles, the train averaged 81 miles an hour.
