GROUP IN BRITAIN PREPAR ATT ON OPPOSE D WORLD CONFERENCE CALL (Klee. Tel. Copyright—United Press Assn.) (Reed. Sept. 25, 10.30 a.in.) LONDON, Sept. 24. A manifesto signed by Lord Ponsonby, Lord Arnold, Canon Dick Sheppard, Mr. G. Lanshury, and Mr. Aldous Huxley declares that, war under any circumstances is a crime against, humanity. They agree that war can never ensure lasting peace or security. I hey believe that these statements are true whether a war is conducted hr a single nation, or ail alliance of nations or the League of Nations. “We will neither participate in war, nor prepare for it,” continues, the statement. "We proclaim the need, hir an immediate summoning of a world conference in order to settle economic and territorial grievances.”
