TOKOMARU BAY CLUB SEASON CLOSING- SOON (Herald Correspondent.) The Tokomaru Buy Badminton Club has decided to close its season on October 2. leaving only two more evenings for play, The singles tournament for the club’s cups have been adjudged as finished, although there are still one or two more games yet to be played. The season has been very successful and the players have improved considerably, taking into consideration the iact. that it is the first season for the majority of them. 11l the ladies’ singles -Mrs. Nod well, who has not lost a single game, although she has still one game unplayed., has been declared the winner as it is impossible for any other lady opponent to acquire the same niwnber ol wins. Miss M. Walker is‘the runner-up in this section with one loss, in which 1 she was defeated by the winner. Tn the men’s section M. Alexander holds an invincible position without a single loss. This player also lias not finished his rounds, nut here again he ,ioltls the happy position where lie cannot he defeated for the. trophy. This player is well .up in the rudiments of die game and his experience stood him m good stead, against his opponents, f. Hod her was the runner-up with one loss (being, again as in the ladies' section. beaten by the champion). This player is easily the most improved oi the men and puts in some very good shots.
