TOUR OF AUSTRALIA GOOD BATTING ELEVEN Tlit*- M.G.C. team lo tour Australia and New Zealand this summer is the strongest side England can place in .the field at the present time, according to Mr. A. Waddington, a former English professional cricketer and M.C.C. player, who arrived at Auckland from England by the I! emu era. Mr. Waddington represented England in two test matches against Australia in the 1930-21 season under the captaincy of the late J. W. H. T. Douglas. After spending a few days in' Auckland, Mr. Waddington will go to Australia, where he intends to see the lest matches. The English side was particularly good in batting and fielding, but perhaps a little weak in bowling, said Mr. Waddington. It was. a very sporting side under a sporting captain and there was no" reason why the tour should not be a most successful one. Many people from England were coming out to Australia and Now Zealand to see the games. Hammond had struck his best form and would be a great asset to the side. Voce was as good as ever and much was expected of the youthful bowler, Fames. Mr, -Waddington thought that Fishlock, the left- hand batsman, would make a lot o£ runs.
