The need-for a hostel for the accommodation of Maoris visiting Hamilton was stressed bv Princess Te Puoa Herangi, of Ngaruawahia, this week. She announced her intention of having a hostel built as soon at the 'house forKing Kornlci was completed at Ngaruawahia. , ~ Princess Te Pnea said that Maoris frequently went to Hamilton to visit friends in ihe hospital or to obtain medical attention themselves, and there was no place in which they could stay a night. Maoris were-not wanted by 'boardinghouse-keepers, and they wpre frequently forced to spend the night in the open. The question of erecting a hostel for Maoris in Hamilton was considered by the Health. Department some years ago, but up action was taken.
