REPUBLICAN POLICY PLAN FOR SUBSIDIES DESMOINES, Sept. 22. Mr. Alfred M. Landon, the Republican nominee for the Presidency, mado one of the most important addresses in his campaign to-day, with the elucidation of his agricultural policy as a biu for Mid-Western farm support, What Mr. Landon proposed *is a substitute for the New Deal agricultural programme was a so-called domestic allotment plan, under which producers would receive cash subsidies on aoinesti-cally-consumed portions of exportable products, such asi wheat, hogs, cotton and tobacco. Without giving details, Mr. Landon explained that such subsidies would be equivalent to tariff benefits received by the industry.
