A considerable improvement in the transport of bobby calvea ia the district is reported by the Waikato Society for tH Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, although conditions sue nut yet entirely satisfactory. It is stated that the decision of buyers not to take calves under 481 b. in weight has done much to mitigate the cruelty which was evident a year or two ago.
