OBITUARY
MR. -JOHN R. LITTLE A resident of Gisborne for over .>0 years, Mr. John Rogerson Little, died in. the Cook Hospital on Saturday, aged 7S years. The late Mr. Little was born in Dumfries, Scotland, where lie became apprenticed to the building trade and was tutored in architecture. Over 50 years ago he went to Auckland, where ho.married Miss Elizabeth Holmes, Shortly afterwards they came to Gisborne and for a time Mr. Little was on the' staff of Messrs. Mackrell and Colley. * Subsequently Mr. Little was appointed borough building inspector, a position, he held for a number of years, lfc was the* designer of the present municipal offices. Subsequently he was on the staff of Messrs. Evans and Neild.
Mr. Little was prominent in lodge activities. He joined Lodge Montrose in 1892, and in 1593 was appointed secretary, holding the position until 1914, when he was made a life member. He was also a keen member .of the Druids’ Lodge, having joined that organisation as early as January, ISSS, while two years afterwards he was appointed arch druid, raid.
Those who remain to mourn their loss include his widow, who is a patient in the Cook Hospital, three sons, Mr. Alexander Little, Auckland, Messrs. 'Williams and .Tames Little, Gisborne, and one daughter, Mrs. A. E. lAllen, Gisborne. The interment took plaee at the Taruheru cemetery this afternoon.
