With a programme embracing, musical talent from the five States of the Commonwealth and from New Zealand', the fourth annual city of Sydney eisteddfod was officially opened by Sir Samuel Walder last evening. In the mezzo-soprano section, Miss Eileen Courtenay, of Wellington, was placed equal second with Miss Peggy Ryan, of Sydney, each scoring 82 points. The winner, Miss Mary Winterbottom, of Sydney, was awarded 84 points.
