HUIA FOOTBALL DANCE (I fern Id Correspondent.) The Alakaraka-Alatawhero Hall was en fete on Tuesday night when the. lluia Football Club held a very successful dance. Patrons were present from alt parts of the district, everyone entering into the spirit of the occasion amt the programme went with a swing. The hall was decorated with coloured streamers and lanterns, while large fern fronds were used effectively. The stage was banked with ferns and greenery intermingled with prunis blossoms. As M. 0., Mr. AJcKniglit carried out his duties capably. The music was supplied by Mrs. Menzies' orchestra, while much enjoyed extras were given by Air. J. Millicr with a mouth organ. A Alonte Carlo waltz proved popular and was won by Aliss AtcGrannaehan and Air. K. Ralph, while honours in the lucky spot fox trot went to Aliss N. Shaw, partnered by Air. Jones. Much credit is reflected on the. club members and secretary, Air. A. Saunders, for the success of the function, while thanks are due to the many ladies who helped untiringly with the supper ai’rangements.
