THAMES AERODROME

FEW WORKERS REQUIRED

In reply to representations made to the' Minister of Public Works, the Hon. R. Semple, by Mr. J. Thorn, M.P., for Thames, in regard to work at the Thames aerodrome, Mr. Semple has stated that the matter has been inquired into and he has been advised that the work contemplated for this year consists only of ripg draining and stop-banking. It was intended that the work should be carried out by a suitable machine if one could be obtained in the district. The type of machine contemplated was unlikely to employ more than one man besides the operator, who would bo a semiskilled workman. To carry out, the work by other means would be beyond the amount of money that could be justifiably allocated for the work.
