This was revealed in a telegram received last night by Mr. Y. Butler, the hon. secretary of the Poverty Bay Hockey Association, and the matter will bo brought up at a meeting to bo held to-morrow, evening. Mailed advice states that representative hockey fixtures would interfere with the Australian Rugby match pn the same date* while in addition the Napier representative team had arranged to travel to Wairoa then. The matter was considered at a special meeting of the Hawke’s Bay association on Monday evening, when it was decided to ask Poverty Bay to suggest another date. The Napier sub-association has been granted permission to send a team to Wairoa on September 12.
