SOLID WRESTLING
MeCREADY BEATS RUSSELL (Per Press Association.) HAMILTON, this day. In a solid exhibition of wrestling, in which mat-work was not sacrificed to an excessive indulgence in showmanship, Earl McCready defeated "Cowboy" Russell by a fall, the only one secured, in the sixth round of a professional bout at Hamilton last evening. Throughout, both men gave a good display, and while McCready held a decided advantage in weight and strength, his opponent gave a plucky exhibition and proved an excellent foil for the Canadian. After McCready had Russell in a groggy condition from a brace of elbow jolts, he picked him up to slam him heavily to the canvas, three times in succession.
