ORMOND NEWS
(Herald Correspondent.) At the monthly meeting of the Ormond Domain Board those present were Messrs, V. Hatlon, chairman, R. Jackson, J. Grayson, J. Winning, and A. AV. James, secretary. The chairman welcomed Mr. Winning as a new member. Tenders which had been called for the erection of a shelter shed on the Domain were considered and that of Mr. Crosby accepted. The shelter would contain tables and forms and would have a water supply for the convenience of picnic parties. The Cemetery Board has set aside an area in the. Ormond cemetery for soldiers' plots.
Another enjoyable five-hundred evening was held in the Ormond Hall last night by the card circle of the Women's Institute. The fine evening favoured a good attendance and bidding on the hands was keen. The arrangements for supper were in the hands of Mrs. Harvey Jones, convenor, and a committee of ladies. The winners were :—Ladies.— Mrs. S. Pardoc. Gentlemen.—Mr. Gregg. Other prizes were won by Mrs. Newman and Mr. R. Stuart. There will be two more five-hundred evenings to complete the series.
