GROWING IMPETUS

ORGNISER SATISFIED

Mr. W. Lints, the organiser of the Festival of Sport,- stated to-day that he .vas highly satisfied with the manner .n which the festival had been taken ,ip throughout the Cisborne community,, and the growing impetus of the various organisations indicated that the big day on Juno 23 would be highly successful. Tho executive visited the Oval ou Saturday and completed details for (the Lay-out of'the ground to work in with the programme. There , will be a wealth of attractions at the oval, and the staff to run the non-stop programme number more than 65. The Oval and field will be kept clear of spectators. A public address .system will announce tho events and keep spectators in touch with everything that is happening. Mr. Harris and Mr. Lints have no apprehension about, weary waits, which generally kill whole-day functions. Nominations close to-night for_ the best all-round athlete, and, this will in-' crease, the interest in the festival. . An alteration has been made in the tug-o'-war. There will be only one class, with a limit of 16st. Entries close on Thursday next. A feature of the hard-up dance on Saturday, Juno 27, will be a pio' and hot-dog cart run on true Cosier lines. A charge of one penny will be made for eatables.
