The Italian Cabinet has promulgated the constitution of Abyssinia. It is combined with Eritrea and Somaliland under the name of Italian East Africa and is ruled by a viceroy with supreme power assisted by two consultative bodies, namely a Governing Council, consisting of the highest State officials, and a Consultative Council, including six Italian: citizens appointed by the viceroy from agricultural, industrial and commercial interests, and six native chiefs who will be notables. East Africa is to be divided into five governorships, namely Amhara, Galla, llarrar, Somaliland and Eritrea. The Coptic Church will be recognised and respected in all Christian parts of Abyssinia. ______
