SOUTH AFRICAN PROJECT £IO,OOO PRIZE OFFERED MILLIONAIRE'S INTEREST (Elec. Tel. Copyright—United Press Assn.) (Reed. June 1, 11 a.m.) LONDON, May 31. Mr. Schlesinger, a South .African millionaire, has donated a £IO,OOO prize for a London to Johannesburg air race in connection with the Johannesburg Exhibition. The race will be confined to Empire pilots and aircraft, and the; organisation will be under the Royal Aero Club.
Mr. Schlesinger says: "1 want to see the people of South Africa ail minded. South Africa is now one of the most prosperous members of the British commonwealth. She is unprotected and is open to any air attack.
