The Haniti delegate attended with a request from bis club that, if possible, the referees give all players definite instruction on the hip throw, as it was the opinion of some of their senior players that this throw as at present practised was more in the- nature of a trip. Further reference to this matter was made, later when the secretary was instructed to write to the Ifauiti and Country clulis asking them to name suitable dates for their teams to attend lectures on Hie rules. Mr. C. Calvert was appointed lecturer for the Ifauiti cluh and Mr. J. Lockwood for ttie Country club. It was decided to carry out an inspection of sprigs next .Saturday. All players should give their sprigs attention before going on the field. Regarding the appoint incut of line umpires, (he meeting decided to leave this in the hands of the selector of referees.
