WAIROA RUGBY
MEETING OF SUB-UNION NAPIER-HASTINGS MATCH (HeraUl Correspondent.; The weekly meeting of the management committee of the Wairoa Rugby Sub-Union was held on Monday night. Present: Messrs. A. G. Nolan, chairman, It. Goodley. A. Mudgeway, \Y. 11. Flint, P. A. Milue, F. It. Manlon,. P. Bates, R. M. McDonald, M. Osborne, and the lion, secretary, Mr. J. J. Millar, -til apology for absence was received from Mr. C. Hall.
Correspondence was received from Hu Hawke’s Bay Rugby Union about flu Napior-JTastiiigs match, and on the motion of the chairman it was decided that the.southern union should be thanked for (ho concession in playing this game in Wairon and that the date be confirmed as June 10. Messrs. Milne and McDonald were appointed as the publicity committee. The question of the curtain-raiser. Convent v. Public School, was left in Ihe hands of Mr. Mudgeway.
Another letter from the Hawke’s Bay union dealt with insurance fund money and insurance receipts. The letter was received. An application was received for the transfer of M. Rika to the Waipapa club, and tlic meeting agreed to grant this, subject to the player having a clearance from his former club. Accounts amounting to .92 10s were passed for payment. It was decided to telegraph to the Wairnrapa Rugby Union in connection with the proposed representative fixture. The referees reported that they
wished thi) attention of ail clubs to bo drawn to rule -12, which reads as follows: —"In every match each of the opposing sides shall provide a ball. The defaulting club may be liable to a penalty of losing the game. ’ ’ The draw for .Saturday’s play was made as follows: Seniors.—Waipapa v. Old Boys, on Mo. A ground, at 2.-Id p.m.; Nuliaka v.
