GRETCHENS NOT WANTED
IDEALS OF THE NAZIS TYPE OF MOTHERHOOD (Reed. May 27, 2 p.m.) BERLIN, May 26. The Nazi ideal of womanhood was defined by the, Reich Minister, Herr Rudolf Hess, when addressing the Na-y.< women’s organisation. He said they did not, want the Grotchcii iyjie, whose interests were supposed to lie confined to tho church, the kitchen and her children, whom foreigners conceived as a limited, characterless being. The Nazi ideal was a woman spiritually competent to stand at her husband’s side in complete understanding of his life struggle, especially one. capable of motherhood. The Nazis wanted women to become mothers, not because the. State or men wanted them to become mothers, but because they were proud to bring healthy children into the world and proud to educate them thus to work for the future of the German people.
