MYSTERY OF £SOOO THEFT
KEY STILL WITH VICTIM PARIS. April tk Paris police 1 are investigating the disappearance from the apartment of a visitor at a leading hotel in the rsoulevard Haussmaint of .jewellery said ;,i be valued at AoftOll, and ftiTO in money. The victim of the theft is Mine. Leopold Liams, 78, a Belgian. Her son M. Andre Loons, a former airmail ho is the head of a business in Paris, also lives til the same hotel. When .Mine. I.cells went out yes- , ■rdav afternoon she locked her jewellery and her cash in a leather 11 1 ache-ease. The case was locked in i wardrobe in her bedroom and the key placed in her handbag. She retimed two hours later to and that er money and jewellery lm,| disapeared without the lock of the wai'd,obe having been forced. A leather strap around her atlaehease had been cut with a razor. The police have taken a number of .inger-prints from the door of the n a rd robe.
