WINTER SHOW

SCENE OF ACTIVITY TRADE SHOWMEN PLEASED SATURDAY’S PROCESSION The wool store of Messrs. Common, Shelton and Company, Limited, in Palmerston road was a scene of intense activity to-day, as preparations lor the annual exhibition of tne Poverty Bay Winter Show Association were being brought to their final stages. The number and variety of trade exhibits will be. a feature of the show, and those engaged to-day in putting the final touches to the. trade exhibits commented most-' favourably on the new lay-out of the floor space available, which is calculated to give the public the most comprehensive, view of all features of the displays. It was considered that the lay : out of. the trade displays was much improved By comparison with last- year’s show.

The executive of the association is anxious to obtain the co-operation of exhibitors' in respect of the delivery of their entries. Art and photographic entries, and also sewing and knitting exhibits, should be left at the hall this evening between 7 and. 9 o’clock, when stewards will be on hand to receive and card them. Where such delivery Is not possible, exhibitors. will assist the committee by having their exhibits on hand as early as possible to-morrow morning. As large numbers of entries are being dealt with by the stewards and judges, such deliveries will be of great assistance. In the other sections, exhibits must be delivered at the hall not later than 10.30 a.m. to-riiorrow.

Entries are still being received for the procession of decorated vehicles, which is to take place on Saturday. All those who intend to take part in thjs procession will assist the organisation by intimating their intention to the secretary, Mr. J. M. Kay, or to any member of the committee, by Friday evening.

A review of the association’s activities appears on pages 7 and 8.
