EXPORT FAT STOCK VALUES IN GISBORNE XLW SCHEDULE AWAITED Nexl week's schedule for export fat stock buying in Gisborne is being eagerly awaited, for some alterations are expected in the rales quoted. At present, schedule prices appear to lie purely nominal. Little change has occurred over the past week or so, but in a number of cases the schedule has been disregarded. Woolly fat lambs, for instance, arc quoted at 7 : ;d per lb, up to :!filb, and *d less for shorn, but it is understood that there is a tendency at picsent lo pay slightly more for select lines.

Reel' is another section in which the schedule has been departed from. Buying has been proceeding lately at 25s per lOlllb, but a belief has been expressed that a weakening will occur from the beginning of next wee!;. Wethers and ewes are still being bought on the foot. Present prices are:—Wethers. 4-th and. 6-th. to 245: 2-th 21s 6fl to 235. Ewes, 14s 6d to I "is. BUTTER MARKET QUIET PRICE DECLINE GENERAL (Reed. April 17, noon) LONDON, April 16. The butter market is quiet-, with a general decline in prices from last week. Danish has lost 3s per cwt., and New Zealand and Australian are. 2s weaker-To-day's quotations are: Danish, 1055,; New Zealand, ■ choicest salted 87s, iinsalted 87s to 88s; Australian, choicest salted 87s, unsaltcd 87s to 88s. Cheese prices arc 6d to Is per cwt. lower than a week ago, to-day's prices being: New Zealand, white and coloured 52s 6d lo 53sj Australian, white and coloured 53s to 52s 6d. Butter prices kept firm until the middle of this week, when the decline of 2s per cwt, occurred oyer the closing rates of last week. New Zealand prices are still ICs per cwt. higher than a year ago, while Danish is 7s higher than at this time last year. The present difference between Xew Zealand and Danish butter quotations is only 18s per cwt., the smallest for many .mouths.
