BIGGER DAIRY CHEQUES
PAYMENTS FOR MARCH GISBORNE £4772 HIGHER Dairy cheques to be paid this month by Gisborne and Tolaga Bay factories 011 March supply will bo £4772 greater than for the. corresponding month last year. This in almost entirely as a result of belter market prices in London, for the factory outputs last month were much the same as March last year. Both the Kia Ora and Okitu factories showed a slight 'advance in production.
Each of the three factories in Gisborne and Tolaga Bay have arranged to pay per lb. this month, compared with 8d for March supply last season. The aggregate payments for the month are shown in the following table, a comparison being given with last season:— March March
Totals £18,699 £23,471 £4772 Figures from Ngatiporou and Wairoa were unavailable to-day. The Herald's Tolaga Bay correspondent writes, that including the payment to be mado on Monday, suppliers have received for this season £19,318 13s 3d, compared with £13,285 13s lOd over the same period in 1934-35.
