SEA SKELETON FOUND
DISCOVERY IN MUD Part of a skeleton of a fish or other sea dweller was found by Mr. T. Redwood and a party of pig hunters at Slippery Creek, five miles from Whitianga. It was embedded in the mud, and, iowing to the tide, it was only possible to secure a portion lift. long. The party will leave to recover the balance, which is expected to make the total length of the skeleton 25ft.
The top jaw is like, that of a mako shark and is 12in. across. There are no teeth. The eyeholes are sin. by 4in. and the vertebrae are lin. to 2]in. in diameter. There are no ribs.
