MADRID PANIC PASSES
PROCESSION EXPLOSIONS REPUBLICAN ANNIVERSARY LITTLE DAMAGE CAUSED (Elec. Tel. Copyright—United Press Assn.) (Heed. April Jo, Jl a.ni.) MADRID, April 14. As the vanguard of a procession celebrating the fifth anniversary of the Spanish Republic passed a grandstand on which the acting-President, Senor Barrios, and other members of the Cabinet and diplomatic corps were seated, two explosions, presumably of detonators, occurred in the rear of the grandstand. Infantrymen broke their ranks to protect. Senor Barrios, upon whom nn attack was feared. One policeman was shot in the stomach during the melee. The crowd dispersed in a state of panic, but returned when it was seen that the damage was negligible.
