MANUTUKE INCIDENT
CHARGE OF ASSAULT MAORJ WOMAN REMANDED A charge of assaulting Hiwa Williams so as to cause him actual bodily Kafem was brought against a Maori woman, Waiotahi Rikirangi, aged 38, in the, Police Court this morning before Mr. F. L, Walton, S.M. Detective. G. A. McWhirter applied for a remand until Monday. lie said the'charge arose out of an incident which occurred at Manutuke on "Wednesday. The man was still in a serious condition in the Cook Hospital. The accused, who was not represented by counsel, applied for hail. Detective .\ieWhirter said the accused was a married woman with two children, and •vns not likely to abscond. Bail was allowed at with one surety of £SO.
