YESTERDAY'S SITTING I LICE-INFESTED .SHEEP ! (Herald o<n-respond (int.) 1 At the Magistrate's Court in Wairoii on Wcdnesdtiy'before. Mr. E. L. Walton, S.M., the following cases wore disposed of:— | Harold Clifford Hynain, who did not appear, was charged by the police thai on March 7 he drove a motor vehicle over tho Wairoa bridge at a speed which, having regard to the. circumstances', might have been dangerous to the public. Constable Gatehouse staled that at 8.15 p.m. when there was a good deal of car and pedestrian traffic, defendant drove over the bridge at a speed of 35 or 40 miles an hour. Defendant was fined £3 and costs 10s. : The stock inspector, Mr. B. deß. Hill, proceeded against Phillips Bros., sheepfarmers, for having exposed lice-infested ! sheep at the Wairoa saleyards on February 6, stating that they sent in 27 I sheep and 27 lambs badly infested with I'lice. Defendants were fined £1 and 1 costs 12s. .John Robinson was similarly 1 charged in respect to 107 sheep and lambs, and also was fined £1 and 12s costs. I Ernest Allan' Wood, inspector of factories, proceeded against. Edward Henry Coo to for having failed to pay the unemployment levy for more than one month. Constable Gatehouse gave evidence of defendant's admission of neglect, and reasons for non-payment. Defendant was fined 10s, with costs 10s. The police stated that the arrears had been paid. Judgment was given in favour of plaintiff in the following undefended civil cases:—Zak Saba v. Les llegin, £3 10s, and costs £1 8s M ; -Mabel Davys, executrix of S. J. Davys, v. Victor Rarnloae, £7 lis ; Dnco Motor Service v. Wi Waaka, £3 L3s 6d. and costs'£2 7s; G. ile V. Robinson v. Elizabeth Whaitiri, against separate estate, .C 4 17s, and costs CI 8s 6d ; (loodlev and.
