BOROUGH STREETS
(To tlie Editor of the Herald.) Sir, —Some weeks ago 1 wrote to the Borough Council complaining; of the deplorable 'condition of the street in which 1 have the misfortune to reside. My complaint was referred to the works committee, whatever that is. Since then all that has happened has been the dropping of some rocks and things in some of the numerous potholes, making the last state of affairs worse than the -first. My grounds of Complaint ,are reasonable because, like other cyclists, I am compelled to ride through the aforesaid pot-holes, 'being unable to use the footpath without the assistance of chains.
I want something else done. Would you advise me to apply to the Firo Board, who seemed to be able to pledge the public credit without any trouble at all? I notice that a .certain portion of Clifford street appears to ibo undergoing the process of tar-sealing. Why? If something worth while is not done to Shoehan street shortly I shall be compelled to resign as a ratepayer.— Yours, etc., A. N. OREE.
