AMPLE FOR FIVE YEARS
BEDS IN HOSPITAL
WAIROA’S POSITION
(Herald Correspondent.) The medical superintendent, l)r. ML. G. Hallwright, reported to yesterday’s meeting of the Wairoa Hospital Board on the accommodation at- the hospital, to the effect that the extensions at present in progress you Id give ample room, without any crowding, for five years. They would have 23 beds for males and 20 beds for females, besides eight for children, this not including isolation or shelter beds, and in an emergency they would be able to accommodate 60 patients. The chairman, Mr. P. «T. Brewster, and Mr. H. L. Harker, both said they were very pleased to hear such a report, especially as it was to be secured at no great expense.
Mr. Chapman said they would-be able to carry on for the next five years, and on these grounds he agreed with the extensions, which were quite justified, till it was ' necessary to build a ward or two oil definite lines for a new hospital.
