DEPARTURE DELAYED
STEAMER FROM PICTON
LOADING DISPUTE
(Per Press Association.) BLENHEIM, this day.
The Tamahine was delayed for nearly three hours before her departure from Picton to Wellington yesterday, due to a dispute with the waterside workers. The unexpected arrival of 2000 cases of apples for Wellington necessitated further labour, bub men who were put off earlier in the week owing to a shortage of work refused to respond unless paid as from 8 a.m. The company declined to agree to this, and delayed the ship while the one gang completed the loading.
