DOMINION CONFERENCE ADDRESS BY MINISTER (Per Pr«ss Association.) ■NAPIER, this day. The New Zealand Municipal Association conference was opened at Napier to-day by the -Mayor, Mr. G. O. Morse. One hundred and fifty delegates were present. The Minister of .Internal Affairs, the Hon. W. E. Parry, delivered an address stating he was in favour of local body reform by a reduction of the number ot bodies, but not by the appointment of a commission. The Government, he said, would do its utmost to reduce working hours. The eventual ideal was a five-day working week. Other matters for «arly attention were the housing problem and increased recreation facilities. , , The occasion was Mr. Parry s third Ministerial visit, to Napier since the general elections.
