DEATH ENDS ROMANCE OXFORD, Jan. 11. Doath ha.> ended a romance of nearly (50 years in two villages near here. Long ago Mr. Lemuel James Green, of Wootton, and Miss Emily Edwards, of Gympton, Oxfordshire, villages a mile apart, fell in love, but were too fond of their own homes to leave them for marriage. Each week-end Mr. Green visited Miss Edwards and tried to persuade her to join him in Wood on. She would refuse, and beg him to join her in Glympton. Neither would give way. Eventually Mr. Green became too feeble to make tho journey to Glympton, and a week ago he learned (hat Miss Edwards had died at the age- of 7o". Next day he took to his bed, broken-hearted, and died, aged S2, with the name "Emily" on his lips.
