NEW BRITISH PLANES

FOR ADELAIDE AIRWAYS

ADELAIDE, Feb. 22.

Adelaide Airways. Limited, sponsored by the Adelaide Steamship Company, which started six months ago with one Monospar machine and later obtained two Short Scions, has now obtained two Dragon Rapides of the type flown by the King. Each is driven by two Gipsy VI engines of 200 h.p. each, with a cruising speed of 136 miles and a top speed of 164 miles an hour. The planes carry eight passengers, in addition to pilot, mails, and luggage. They will be put on the Adelaide to Melbourne and Adelaide to Broken Hill routes, and it is intended to make three trips weekly to Melbourne instead of two as at present.
