TOLAGA BAY NEWS
(Herald Correspondent.) The Whangara parish choir, holders of the Gisborne Competitions' Cup, held their final practice in the Hauiti Hall last night. There was a full attendance of members, who went through a full rehearsal under the baton of Mr. Wi Pere Amaru. Notice of his inability to attend the competitions was /landed in bv Mr. J. Tuhiwai, who is unable to obtain leave of absence from his employment. The choir will leave Tolaga, Bay at an early hour on Friday morning in order to attend the dedication ceremony of the new Poho-o-Hawiri church.
Mrs. J. Orimshaw, London, is spending a short holiday in Tolaga Bay, whore she is the guest of Mrs. A. W. Larsen.—-Mr. A. W. Larscn returned yesterday from a holiday in Auckland. With him was Mr. Horsley, who will bo the gne'st of Mr. and Mrs. Larsen during his stay.—Miss M. Jessep. Wairoa, who has been spending a holiday with Miss P. Day, left on Monday for Te Karaka.—Mr. W. Prince, who has been paying a health visit to Te Puia, returned home during the weekend.
