UNEMPLOYED GARDENS
RENTING OF PROPERTIES The Aberdeen road and Score Point reserves which had been vised during , the past few years as vegetable gardens for the unemployed, will pass now to other uses. ' At last night's meeting of the Gisborne Borough Council, one tender each for the use of the two reserves was accepted.
Mr. In C. Bartlett tendered £1 10s per acre per annum for the rental of the section of five acres at the corner of Roebuck road and Aberdeen road. The leiiOer was accepted for 12 m.i'.tlis firm the beginning of March, with rJght of renewal for a further 12 months.
Mr. Charles Parker, writing on behalf of Mr. Hop LoCj offered £2O for 12 months, or longer term, for the use of Score Point reserve.—Thin tender was also accepted for 12 months .from April 1, right of renewal for a further 12 months being given. The Mayor, Mr. D. W. Coleman, M.P.., remarked that this tender was equal to about £3 an acre.
