Within his Empire, outside, beyond, ■ Our King was loved by all A lament heat upon the drums, lie's had the tinal call. Mingle with sound of muffled bells, Jiewailiugs of a nation—widely spread. With Hags halimast let all the world proclaim The fateful message that, our King is dead. Head of an Empire—greater than Old Kome— Our King a nation has most nobly led, And now God lifts him from an earthy throne To heaven instead. —Annie Shilling, Seatoun, Wellington.
