OPPORTUNITY FOR TRADE

SYDNEY. Jan. 13

Mr I. G. Sullivan, a tobacco merchant, of Hankow, China, who is returning from a holiday in New Zealand, reached Sydney by the Monowni yesterday. He said the market for foodstuffs in China was increasing, and would continue to do so, because the standard of living was being raised. America had built up a big trade in fresh and canned fruit and vegetables with China, and this would go on improving. Alls tralia could, at Ihe present time, secure a substantial percentage of this trade, and also lay the foundation for an excellent on I lei for her surplus foodstuffs for the future.
