MISHAP TO JEAN BATTEN
SLIGHT CONCUSSION FORCED LANDING MADE LONDON, Dec. 28. The New Zealand, aviatrix, Miss Jean Batten, flying her trans-Atlantic plane, to London from Southampton experienced oil trouble and, in attempting a forced landing in a field at Midhurst, struck a hedge top. Tie plane was 1 slightly damaged. Miss Batten suffered slight concussion and shock.
