VAN OF ADVANCE | EFFORT TO TAKE MAKALE, ELACKSHLRTS IN SUPPORT CONSOLIDATION WORK LINES OF COMMUNICATION (Elec. Tel. Copyright—United Press Assn.) (Reed. Nov. B, 2 p.m.) LONDON, Nov. 7. The special correspondent of the Exchange News Service With the Italians says that to-day's advance was carried out 'by a column of Askaris of General P>iroll's army along the Bcvn River into the valley of Guenfeld. Another column in the afternoon reached the top of a mountain at Endamosoboh, and secured possession of the southern slopes and placed outposts within three miles of Makale. The Askaris arc expected to occupy Makale to-morrow morning. Meanwhile, the Elackshirts are eon solidnting lite area gained and developing lines of communication. The Askaris .also have begun an offensive on the Italian extreme right from the Sot it River to Aksum, crossing- the river near the Sudan border and advancing southwards. Two battalions of Eritrean natives are advancing in a south-westerly direction from Aksum with a view to preventing the A'byssinians in the north-west from joining the armies of Rns Kassn and Has Soyou m. The Committee of Eighteen, which is the executive of the sanctions co-ordina-tion committee of 50' League States, took its final decisions at Geneva las.l night for the. operation of economic sanctions on November 18.
