BACK TO 102/- CWT BUTTER MARKET RECOVERS GAIN OF 3s OVERNIGHT The market for New Zealand buttei in London staged a sharp recovery overnight, and there has been a gain of 3per cwt. upon the. prices quoted yesterday, bringing the quotations up to 102 s for finest. A sharp fall in quotations occurred during the week, prices declining by 9s per cwt. to 99s yesterday, the first occasion for over two months that the price bad fallen below ICOs. The market still remained weak at the, lower values, but with the, recovery announced to : day a firm tone is reported. Messrs. Joseph Nathan and Company report to-dav as follows: "Butter, finest 101 s to 102 s, first grade 99s to 100 s; the market is firm. Cheese sold at 49s to £os. and was more active, closing at 51s " ' The Australian Press Association's report, dated London, November 7. states that the market is steady at the lower level, but. business is small. Quotations are: Danish, 131 s; choicest salted New Zealand, 995, 101 s; Australian, 98s, 100 s; nnsalted, New Zealand. 106 s; Australian, 104 s. The cheese market, is slow, New Zealand white and colored at 50s, and Australian at 48s. Messrs. Dalgety and Company have received the following advice from London dated November 7: "Bnttcr.— There is more inquiry this end of the week. Quotations: Danish (f.0.b.). 102 s to 103 s; New Zealand finest. 99s to 100 s; Australian finest, nnsalted-100s to 101 s, salted 99s to 100 s. Cheese.--There is more inquiry. Quotations: New Zealand, White 49s to 50s. colored 49s to 50s: Canadian, white 56s to 60s, colored 56s to 605." BRADFORD TOPS MARKET (Reed. Nov. 8,2 p.m.) LONDON, Nov. 7. The Bradford tops market is firm, with consumption increasing. Quotations: Seventies, 33d; sixty-fours, 31d; sixties, 29Jd; fifty-sixes, 20Jd; fifties, 15d; forty-sixes, 12-Jcl; forties, lid.
