“DICTATORSHIPS”
PASTOR PASCOE’S ADDRESS “Parliamentary government has fallen on evil days,” said Pastor i’aseoe in his lecture in the Majestic Theatre last night, “Armed dictatorships of all kinds now stretch almost without interruption from the White Sea to the .Mediterranean amt from the North Sett to the Pncilie.
“When a nation surrenders its God given right to think, act and worship as responsible beings and is prepared to delegate that right to any one man. they are 'heading for slavery,” lie declared. “In view of the present tendency toward dictatorships the query is: Will sonto modern Caesar arise and assume world iiilership?” In answer to this question Pastor Pascoo directed his audience to tlie* writings of the prophet Daniel, who by means of a symbolic image, outlined the history uf the world from the time of Babylon to the end of all earthly kingdoms. This forecast, covering nearly 3000 years, was compressed into eight brief verses, Dan. 2 : 37-44. Notwithstanding its brevity, added Pastor Pnseoe. sufficient detail was supplied to show the times in which wo live and also to give an assurance that the world would not be jailed by a dictatorship. “The present kingdoms ol Europe will remain in existence,” he said, “till ‘the stone cut out without hands' (which represents Christ’s Kingdom) takes control.”
